Welcome back to interstate visitors
We look forward to welcoming back interstate holidaymakers to North Queensland from July 10.
This announcement by the Queensland Government today to lift border restrictions to all except Victorian travellers is a boost for the aviation and tourism sectors, and the state’s economy.
We have seen some increases in flights since intrastate travel re-started and expect to see more capacity added now that the Queensland border has been lifted to all except Victorian visitors.
But it will take some time for flight schedules to return to the levels we saw pre-COVID-19.
Airports and airlines have developed a domestic passenger journey protocol ready for the restart of domestic travel, which was recently endorsed by the Federal Government.
This protocol, including health and hygiene measures, will guide our approach to safe flying as more people start traveling around Australia again.
