New terminal team on board to bring airport cheer
Four duty managers have joined the Townsville Airport team to help enhance our customers’ experience and ensure they have a smooth journey through our airport.
Townsville Airport Chief Operating Officer Kevin Gill said the new team had hit the ground running, already helping to improve the smooth flow of operations in the terminal.
“Our duty managers will be our eyes and ears on the ground, able to recognise any possible disruptions, respond to customers’ queries immediately and react quickly to any unforeseen issues that may arise,” he said.
“Our duty managers will be focussed on operational touch points including queuing areas such as at security screening and in the departure and arrivals halls.”
Mr Gill said the duty managers would be particularly important when the terminal redevelopment began, communicating changes to passengers, tenants and contractors.
“The duty managers will be on hand to ensure the works do not interfere with airport operations and passenger journeys,” he said.
“The airport is an important economic driver for North Queensland, and we are committed to doing what we can to ensure visitors and residents have the best possible welcome and farewell to the region through our airport.”
Mr Gill said the duty managers had started ahead of what was likely to be a busy Christmas period.
“We have a host of festive activities planned over coming weeks, as we prepare for the traditional 12 days of Christmas countdown,” he said.
“Starting this Saturday (December 14), we will begin our countdown to Christmas, with a different festive activation in the terminal each day in the lead up to December 25.
“Activities will include everything from organised children’s activities, to product give-aways, special offers, a fun charity drive, and more as part of our commitment to our passengers at this special time of year.
“We wish all of our passengers and customers a happy and safe holiday period.”
